Drivers should all be made aware of the responsibilities they have as a driver to ensure their vehicle or the one they have been provided by the company is both safe and legal

The trouble is they dont!

The majority of drivers seem to pay scant attention to the vehicle they are driving.

Drivers need to have a simple system to work through and a reporting system that ensures rectification of problems is swift and effective.

We recommend using the acronym POWDERY

By using this each time a driver walks towards a vehicle it begins to get them focused on the driving task, which is definitely the most important part of the checks.

It’s all very well making sure the tyres are up to the job, but the driver has to be allowed to concentrate 100% on driving. After all they are the main contributors to 95% of all incidents.

The other 5% could also be avoided if they did these checks!
